About the Role:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to work with our Go-To-Market Team to help scale Motive’s sales, marketing, and business operations through automation, AI, and data-driven software development. This role will work closely with the sales team to build internal tools, integrations, and systems that enable more efficient deal-making, improve workflows, and drive revenue growth. This role will report directly to our CTO, but work very closely with the sales and executive team, as well as cross-functionally.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about using software to optimize business processes. They should be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, eager to identify and implement impactful solutions that accelerate Motive’s expansion. This role requires close collaboration with sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance our go-to-market strategy through software and automation.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Help grow Motive to thousands of dealerships

  • Scale our sales and marketing functions through software, automation, AI, and data analysis

  • Enable the sales team to be more efficient by creating in-house software and tools

  • Work with sales team members to close technical customers

  • Drive business goals through experiments and metric-driven software development

  • Build robust integrations between Motive products, business systems, and third-party data to enable more sales

  • Work in a small, cross-functional, dynamic engineering team with partners in business operations, marketing, sales, and product

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Experience working with generative AI models in a professional capacity

  • Experience working with and cleaning large quantities of data

  • Experience building, analyzing, and maintaining datasets

  • Experience in a growth or sales engineering role is preferred

  • An intuition for good design, layout, and information hierarchy

  • Skilled in the front-of-the-front and back-of-the-front development

  • 3-5 years of React experience

  • 1+ years of experience working with Next.js in a production capacity

  • Small startup experience (1-20 engineers)

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with great follow-through

  • Ruby on rails experience is preferred
